Baghdad or New Orleans?
I just thought I would do this to reinforce a point being made everywhere:
"Today in _____________, a United States Military attachment took fire from the local citizenry during a movement of troops and supplies across the city. Police deserted their ranks, and the insurgents were killed. This is not the first report of violence from the Gulf. The sky blackened from chemical smoke and flames, and with bodies in the streets, people wandered about aimlessly under a clear blue sky in the oppressive heat. Criticism of the US and President Bush are at an all time high here over the way this operation and its aftermath have been handled by this administration, and with the entire region in ruins, Bush has stated that after today's helicopter crash, more National Guard troops will be committed on the ground to 'maintain the peace.'"
I've stolen the above editorial cartoon because I think it's the best one I've seen on the subject. Meanwhile, here in Pensacola, C & I are both pulling Red Cross volunteer shifts, (hers is tonight and mine are Tuesday and Wednesday) and there's "a whole lot of ignorance going on," to quote Jon Broad. I got into a discussion or two on Friday about how the "niggers and faggots don't have a civilization in the first place, so how could we expect anything different," (more on that if readers request it) and I would direct you to the various threads over at Melting Dolls if you want to see both sides of true Southern thinking. She's in Savannah, I believe. I would like to throw props to Kanye West for deviating from the script LIVE on NBC the other night - I bought his most recent tracks from iTunes because of it. (The creepiest thing ever - his comments appeared in his Wikipedia entry about five minutes after he made them...) Finally, for the most erudite and disturbing take on what's going on the Delta region of the "United States of Meathook," I urge you to check out Mr. Warren Ellis' most recent entires. Blessedly, they feature no anal fish.
FYI -- a clip of Kanye West is here:
